Droids, Google Phones, Contracts, and Termination Fees: What’s a Geek to Do?
I hope the fancy cocktails from dinner last night helped you sleep on the plane.
I think you deserve it as this is one of the better blogs on affiliate marketing. Most of the others out there seem to be pushing advertising and products so much that it dilutes their purpose. This one don't and the content of the posts is stellar.
Keep it up! :)
I'm not sure where you should go next. But I do know that wherever it is, I'll be there reading and enjoying it.
"I’d like to get that number up. But how? I don’t see that increasing by writing the same industry insider stuff, which I will continue to do."
I can tell you one major way and just one example, let's say social media as an example. For me, the major thing I look for is how can I actually use this or that for my business. Real, practical uses. If those connections are made, that number will go up. You have some good posts where you'll go thru something step by step, with pictures, so it's easy to understand. There was a recent thread at ABW about what blogs are good to read for affiliate marketing and I was posting about becoming bored with them since post just report news or comment on somebody else's blog etc and if it was more tips people could actually use to grow their business. Not the typical stuff you see on all those make money online blogs, even tho with them you might see some good tips as well. As an example, somebody twittered about helpareporter, which I think is great and actually can help my business.
But then I also realize that most affiliates don't have that much time to blog since they have businesses to run, work to do.
Also contistency helps with the numbers. Doesn't have to be every day but some blogs I used to read take weeks off, sometimes months, they rattle off 15 in one day type of deal.
And I had to make 2 post because:
"Sorry
Your comment is a little too long. Try splitting it into multiple comments."
So get rid of this new commenting system as well :) Or if possible, make some adjustment to it.
As for time, I'm sorta committed to this thing, so I try to put time aside.
Sorry about long comment. I didn't know that. It is a third party service, I cannot make adjustments.
Just off the top of my head one way to increase your reach would be to interview some people not in your "normal" circle of friends and readers. Maybe that would draw in some of their followers. Who wouldn't want to be interviewed by the blogger of the year?
I'll echo everyone's congratulations and as usual it was great to see you again and I'm glad I got to congratulate you in person. I think the most important reason why your blog (and anyone else who runs a great blog) is great is because you care about it - and you care about what you write.
So - that means that my advice to increasing readership/reach would simply be to just include more stuff that you care about - hopefully it will be that simple.
;) See ya in NYC.
Start with other award winning bloggers.

Brian's right it is about passion and enjoying the creative part of the writing process. As a reader when you dive into a topic it is apparent both how whip smart you are and how thoughtful your analysis is but it is passion you display on topics you are vested in is very apparent.
As long as you give yourself room to enjoy the writing process yourself we will keep coming back to read the results of that creativity and insight.
Hope this doesn't increase the pressure... hehe. But I do hope you continue the blogging.
