I did replace the color wheel recently and the TV was working fine for a month. On some of the other posts, I saw mentioned that if you put the copper wire band in backwards (which some people did) there was no picture. You may want to check this.

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

Billy,

Did replacing the ballast correct the problem. I recently replaced the color wheel (screaming banshee) and have tried replacing the lamp. The lamp does not light up.

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

Will a bad color wheel prevent a Samsung DLP TV set from turning on

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

Hi,I have a question! The lamp blinks for about 30 seconds and then all three lights blink.I cannot turn the TV off with the clicker or the power button.I have to pull the plug to turn it off.I have rechecked my work several times and all seems O.K...Any suggestions? Please help!
Thanks,

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

Mel - did you diagnose and solve your problem? I have the same problem and was wondering how to fix. Please let me know. THanks.
John

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

samsung hl-r5067w, lower case for a reason. Sound, but the picture was unviewable. Horizontal and Vertical stripes, then sometimes it would not turn on. IGNORE THE BOOK WHEN IT COMES TO THE LIGHTS BLINKING ON THE FRONT. My problem turned out to be a broken Capacitor leg on the power supply board. This is after 500.00 at a certified repair shop that gave up. I got so mad at the tv, I bought an LG, looked at the samsung for an hour, then took it to the garage and gutted it like a fish.
When my wife came out to see what I was doing, I said 2,300.00, and no one can figure it out? Here's the cute thing, she picked up the power supply board, and asked: is this supposed to be connected on this side?
In short, sodered it back, put it back together, and works just fine. Anyone gonna buy another samsung anything?

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

,Continued from my previous posting to Greg

s there anyone out there that can shed some light on this problem? I spoke with Samsung at the 13th month after my purcahse with this problem and they were absolutely no help. I never thought a company as large as Samsung could have such poor customer service/quality. Service after the sale is non-existent and I will never buy another Samsung product again because of this. I believe they do not stand behind their product. Once I repair this TV, my intention is to sell it and buy a VISIO or Panasonic, both have a solid record for quality and service after the sale.

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

I have the exact same problem with my HLP5063WX/XAA Samsung DLP. I replaced the Color Wheel and had the exact same issue with the greens and reds as a problem. My son calls it "Clay Faces" when a dark scene comes up. The reds look smeared and I can see the screen lightly flashing in the backround like the color wheel is faulty. Let me know if you are seeing the same problem with red. Also, I am considering replacing the color wheeel again, believing I was issued a bad part from Parts.com. This problem started as soon as I replaced the color wheel about two years ago and I have just been living with the problem since. Prior to that my picture was awesome until the bearings failed with the original OEM color wheel.

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

i have a hlp5063wx/xaa, i just replaced the color wheel and ballast. it's working, but i have on issue with the green background it's like a shadow. when watching a movie specially when dark shadow will appear green. what is wrong.

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

I have a similiar problem. My TV starts, with the "turn on sound" and the "Lamp" light blinks, then after a couple of tries, all three lamps blink. I replaced the lamp and the ballast, but did not replace the color wheel. You may try to replace your ballast, which you can get from the Partsstore.com, Part No. BP9600690A.

Re: Reader Question: New lamp, still no picture

Hi,I have a question!
